What You'll Be Doing
As the Quality Assurance Coordinator, you will support the day-to-day quality assurance, food safety and compliance activities across our Alexandria distribution facility. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, working across teams and helping maintain systems, records and site practices that meet regulatory requirements, customer expectations and internal standards.
Food Safety and GMP: Conduct routine GMP, hygiene and food safety checks, record findings and follow up corrective actions with relevant site teams.
Audit and Compliance Support: Perform internal audits, customer & regulatory external audits, supplier or regulatory requirements, evidence gathering and close-out of audit actions.
Product Quality Management: Support product hold and release processes, customer complaint investigations, non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
Warehouse Quality Support: Monitor receiving, storage, stock rotation, temperature control, cold chain compliance and product handling practices to ensure products remain safe and fit for sale.
Traceability and Recall Readiness: Conduct traceability checks, mock recalls, product withdrawals and inventory quality controls to support audit readiness and risk management.
Documentation and Records: Maintain accurate QA records, registers, specifications and reports, ensuring documentation is complete, current and readily available for audits.
Continuous Improvement: Work with operational stakeholders to identify compliance gaps, improve site practices and strengthen quality and food safety systems.
What You'll Bring
Previous experience in a QA Coordinator or similar role within FMCG, food manufacturing, food distribution, 3PL or warehousing
Sound understanding of GMP, HACCP, food safety, allergens, labelling, traceability and internal auditing requirements
Experience supporting investigations, corrective actions, non-conformance management and compliance activities
Strong attention to detail, accurate record-keeping and confidence working with quality documentation
Excellent organisational, planning and follow-up capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities
Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across operations, warehouse and quality teams
Intermediate Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience with ERP or MRP systems, preferably M3, is advantageous
A qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Assurance or a related discipline is advantageous
