Design Manager – High Voltage, Data Centres At Goodman:

You'll lead the high voltage and medium voltage design across our Melbourne data centre projects, representing Goodman at the point where the network meets the site.

You'll sit across both sides of that line, setting the technical scope, holding the interface, and making sure what gets built matches what was intended. It's a role with real breadth, from grid studies and authority submissions through to conformance inspections on site.

Day-to-day

Manage the technical studies and submissions for grid connection, and the specification of the DBO scope for transmission connection and transformation to 132kVManage the DBO design process through interfaces, operational requirements and conformance inspections during constructionLead consultants and the general contractor on transformation to 22/33kV and site reticulation between primary and secondary MV switchboardsSet and maintain the basis of design, technical standards and coordination processes across projects Act as the HV/MV design interface for utilities, authorities, vendors, consultants, contractors and customersManage design risk, compliance, change control and consultant commercial inputsSupport testing, commissioning and handover readiness

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with postgraduate study in protection systems or substation design well regarded Advanced HV/MV design knowledge across primary and secondary systems from 500kV to 22kV, SCADA and substation construction Strong working knowledge of AEMO, TNSP and DNSP regulations, and Victorian AHJ requirements Significant substation experience, including leading design management across delivery phases A track record leading multidisciplinary consultants, contractors and vendors on complex projects Confidence presenting technical positions and recommendations to senior stakeholders Established relationships with transmission network service providers and utilities
