Senior Geologist – Geophysics & Geospatial Data

About the role

The successful candidate will work across geological interpretation, geophysical data processing and quality assurance, supporting UAV-based mineral exploration projects from field data acquisition through to final technical outputs. The role includes office-based technical work and participation in field campaigns across Australia, including remote locations where required.

Key responsibilities

• Process and quality-control UAV magnetic and spatial survey datasets.
• Perform geophysical QA/QC, including assessment of survey consistency, positioning, noise, anomalies and data quality.
• Process magnetic survey data and prepare profiles, grids, maps and other exploration outputs.
• Process and validate LiDAR and terrain datasets, including point-cloud filtering, classification, stitching, and generation of DTM/DSM products.
• Integrate geological, magnetic, LiDAR and other spatial datasets.
• Support geological and geophysical interpretation for mineral exploration and drill-target definition.
• Review data accuracy and identify acquisition or processing issues before final delivery.
• Prepare technical maps, reports and other client-ready deliverables.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and automation of geophysical processing and QA/QC workflows.
• Participate in field campaigns and work with BlueCap's survey and technical teams.

About you

• Degree-level qualification in Geology, Applied Geology, Geophysics, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences or a closely related discipline.
• Substantial professional experience in mineral exploration, geology, geophysics, or closely related operational environments.
• Demonstrated experience processing and quality-controlling magnetic and spatial datasets.
• Practical experience working with LiDAR/terrain data and validating DTM/DSM or equivalent terrain products.
• Strong understanding of applied mathematics, signal processing, statistics, and uncertainty relevant to geophysical data.
• Ability to integrate geological and geophysical information and produce defensible technical interpretations.
• Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, auditable and technically documented results.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Ability and willingness to participate in field campaigns and travel to remote project locations when required.
