Specialist Family Support Practitioner - Mackay

About the Position

We're excited to welcome a Specialist Family Support Practitioner to our Mackay Intensive Family Support (IFS) team. In this rewarding role, you'll walk alongside vulnerable families, helping them build the skills, confidence and supports they need to create safe, stable and nurturing environments for their children. Through compassionate, evidence-informed practice, you'll empower families to achieve positive and lasting change.

• Level 5 SCHCADS Award.
• Salary range: $105,578 - $110,360 + Superannuation.
• Full-time, Government funded contract opportunity until 30 June 2027 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support families to thrive by delivering intensive, child-centred case management and tailored interventions that address complex needs and child protection concerns.
• Build strong partnerships with families, community services and government agencies to achieve meaningful goals and sustainable outcomes.
• Apply your specialist expertise to assess needs, provide guidance and support colleagues through coaching, mentoring and professional collaboration.
• Create lasting impact by strengthening family resilience, community connections and the capacity of caregivers to safely care for their children.

About You

• Hold a relevant tertiary qualification (allied health, social work, human services) with professional registration (if required) and, a membership in a professional association (desirable).
• At least five (5) years’ experience providing complex and intensive case-management and therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in a child protection framework.
• Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).
• Current driver’s licence.
