The SIL Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the safe, effective and person-centred delivery of Supported Independent Living (SIL) services across allocated participant homes.

The position provides operational oversight of SIL houses, House Coordinators and Disability Support Workers and acts as a key link between participants, families and guardians, support coordinators, allied health professionals, clinical staff, behaviour support practitioners and Velocity Support Services management.

The SIL Coordinator is responsible for ensuring supports are delivered in accordance with participant needs, service agreements, NDIS requirements, organisational policies and procedures, and applicable workplace health and safety obligations.

The role has a strong focus on service quality, participant outcomes, workforce coordination, incident management, documentation, compliance and continuous improvement.

Duties:

• Coordinate day-to-day SIL service delivery across allocated participant homes.
• Ensure supports are person-centred and consistent with participants' goals, preferences, routines, support plans and assessed needs.
• Promote participant choice, control, independence, dignity and community participation.
• Provide operational oversight of allocated SIL properties.
• Conduct regular house visits and service quality checks.
• Provide leadership, guidance and operational support to House Coordinators and Disability Support Workers.
• Monitor SIL rosters to ensure participant support requirements are appropriately covered.
• Assist with management of shift vacancies, cancellations and emergency coverage.
• Ensure incidents are identified, responded to, documented and escalated promptly.
• Review incident reports for completeness, accuracy and appropriate follow-up.
• Escalate serious or potentially reportable incidents immediately to relevant management personnel.
• Ensure SIL documentation is accurate, timely and appropriately maintained.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Maintain professional communication with: Participants; Families and guardians; Support Coordinators.
• Review incidents, complaints, participant feedback and operational trends to identify improvement opportunities.

Essential Requirements.

The successful applicant should have:

• Relevant qualification in Disability, Community Services, Human Services, Health, Management or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience within disability services, preferably SIL.
• Experience coordinating staff and participant services.
• Strong understanding of person-centred practice.
• Knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and NDIS Code of Conduct.
• Understanding of incident management and safeguarding obligations.
• Strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills.
• High-level written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage competing operational priorities.

Desirable Requirements

• Certificate 3, 4 or Diploma in Disability, Community Services, EN, RN or Leadership and Management.
• Previous experience as a SIL Coordinator, Service Coordinator, House Coordinator or Team Leader.
• Experience supporting participants with complex behaviours or high-intensity support needs.
• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and restrictive practices.
• Experience with ShiftCare, Employment Hero, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
• Experience participating in NDIS audits or quality and compliance activities.

Pay: $64,090.22 – $95,000.00 per year
