General Support Officer / Catering Assistant

Buckland is a quality provider of Aged Care services situated in Springwood in the Lower Blue Mountains NSW. We are a well-established non-for-profit organisation and are well respected in our community.

Currently we are seeking highly motivated casual Catering Assistants to join our team on a casual basis. Candidates must be available to work 6:30am – 3:00pm or 2:00pm – 8:00pm and be available to work any day of the week.

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

• Assisting the cook with the preparation of meal ingredients (food and beverage)
• Serving of resident meals
• Cleaning and sanitising all food preparation are according to standards of WHS and hygiene standards
• Use of the commercial dishwasher to wash cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards and dishes
• General kitchen cleaning and sanitizing according to daily cleaning schedule
• Organizing and correctly storing food supplies
• Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to kitchen area
• Completing required documentation and reporting
• Adhering to WHS requirements including the safe storage and use of chemicals and equipment.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Have experience working in cooking and food preparation
• A knowledge of safe food handling principles & how to create a safe working environment
• Have knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety principles
• Have strong organisational and time management skills
• Be proactive, flexible, able to show initiative and effectively work as part of a team
• Flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Understands the need for privacy & confidentiality
