MacKillop Family Services is seeking a Family Services Coordinator to lead our Loddon Mallee Family Services Team based in Bendigo. This leadership position plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of two important programs: Strengthening Families and Restoring Families.

As Family Services Coordinator, you will provide leadership, supervision, coaching and practice support to a dedicated team of practitioners delivering therapeutic, trauma informed outreach services to families experiencing complex challenges. You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the child and family services sector to ensure high-quality, evidence-informed practice that strengthens family functioning, promotes child safety, and supports reunification and preservation outcomes.

In this role, you'll:

• Provide leadership, clinical supervision, coaching and practice support to Family Services practitioners, including live supervision through joint casework.
• Lead and support the delivery of high quality therapeutic outreach services to children, young people and families with complex needs.
• Monitor case practice and service delivery to ensure alignment with DFFH funding requirements, Practice Modules, frameworks and quality standards.
• Support staff professional development through training, reflective practice, coaching and completion of DFFH Practice and Coaching Modules.
• Manage referrals into the Restoring Families program and oversee intake, allocation and service delivery processes.
• Promote the Sanctuary Model and trauma-informed practice across all aspects of service delivery and team culture.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005, and all organisational policies and procedures.
• Monitor program performance, data collection, reporting requirements, budgets and quality improvement activities.
• Support continuous improvement through evaluation, file audits, client feedback and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture that supports staff wellbeing and professional growth.
• Provide outreach support to families where required and participate in after-hours work as necessary.

The Family Services Coordinator is based at our Bendigo Office within the Loddon Mallee Family Services Team and reports to the Area Manager, Loddon Mallee.

This is a full-time position, with flexibility required to meet operational needs, including occasional work outside standard business hours. The program operates between 7:00am and 7:00pm.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology or a related discipline. Candidates holding a relevant Diploma qualification with substantial experience, or currently working towards a relevant degree, are encouraged to apply.
• Significant experience working with children, young people and families with complex needs, including a strong understanding of child development and whole of family approaches.
• Demonstrated experience working with attachment, intergenerational trauma, family complexity and the impacts of child protection involvement.
• Proven ability to undertake and oversee complex therapeutic outreach casework with families and children who have experienced trauma.
• Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and awareness of issues impacting Aboriginal children, young people and families.
• Experience working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families experiencing complex trauma.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across professional and organisational boundaries.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including staff supervision, coaching, mentoring and team development.
• Experience working within the MARAM Framework, including risk assessment, risk conceptualisation, safety planning and application of FVISS and CISS.
• Highly developed skills in assessing risk, needs and safety for vulnerable children, young people and families.
• Excellent communication, report writing, interpersonal and computer skills.
