Machine Operator - Plasma Cutter

 Better Wear Welding is a leading Western Australian-privately owned company specialising in fabrication and engineering services. 

Based in Hazelmere we are looking for a detail-oriented and safety conscious Machine Operator to join our production team operating our Kinetic K4000 plasma cutting machine. Previous experience would be an advantage however we are willing to train the right applicant with previous fabrication workshop experience.

You will report to our Workshop Supervisor and become part of our fabrication team.

Please note that machine-specific training will be provided to the successful applicant. Competitive remuneration will be based on skill level.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Setting up and operating our Kinetic K4000 machine - plasma cutting, milling & drilling steel and wear plate parts for fabrication ensuring smooth, efficient and high-quality production

• Monitoring machine performance and troubleshoot issues

• Perform routine maintenance to keep operations running at peak efficiency

• Loading raw materials/steel sheet

• Unloading cut components and remnants

• Accurate and legible labelling of cut components

• Interpretation of component drawings as part of the checking process

 Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience in machine processing/plasma cutting an advantage

• Experience in a metal fabrication workshop

• Ability to interpret component drawings

• Ability to operate overhead lifting equipment

• Forklift licence

• Problem-solving ability

• Organisational ability

• Ability to work unsupervised

• Comply with safe working practices and procedures
