Paper Rock Scissors Art Studios is a vibrant and growing business with 2 popular art studios based in Sydney's Inner West.
We are looking for a Part-time Art Studio Manager overseeing the daily running of art and pottery studios. The role combines studio operations, staff coordination, marketing, and pottery-specific management as well as teaching students, across approximately 20-24 hours per week. You will ensure spaces are clean, safe, and well-prepared for classes, manage supplies and equipment, coordinate schedules, and foster a welcoming creative environment for children and adults.
Key responsibilities
Oversee daily running of the art and pottery studios
Ensure spaces are clean, safe, and well-prepared for classes – update stock requirements as needed
Manage studio supplies and materials — order stock, track inventory, and maintain equipment (including pottery wheels and kilns)
Coordinate class schedules and room allocations across multiple programs
Ensure compliance with WHS/safety standards
Support and supervise art teachers, pottery tutors, and assistants
Assist in onboarding and training new staff
Assist with managing substitutions or teacher absences
Schedule kiln firings and monitor firing logs
Manage clay recycling and glazing processes
About you
Must be available for afternoons (from 2:15 pm), some evenings, and occasional weekends for workshops or events
Must have some teaching experience with children
Ability to foster a welcoming, creative, and inclusive environment for children and adults
Experience with studio operations, inventory management, or similar administrative coordination
Familiarity with pottery processes and equipment is advantageous
You will be organised, reliable and have a vibrant and confident personality
