About the role
THE ROLE
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will play a key role in policy development, planning and program administration for initiatives to improve social inclusion and community participation, including the Neighbourhood House Coordination Program, Men's Shed Funding Program and other place-based social infrastructure programs and projects. You will also support delivery of government's Victorian Volunteer Strategy to uplift and increase volunteering across the state.
More broadly, the role will contribute to the work of the Community Inclusion, Carers and Volunteers Unit, as part of a collaborative approach to delivering on key government priorities in the Carers and Volunteers portfolio.
Reporting to the Senior Policy and Project Officer, Social Inclusion, the role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires strong program and project management skills, the ability to proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with key government and community stakeholders, and a working understanding of how to embed self-determination, diversity, equity and inclusion principles into programs and policy.
This role will support the development of robust policy and program improvement options and government business including briefings, reports and submissions. As such, conceptual and analytical ability, and strong written communication skills are key, along with the ability to quickly understand new subject matter and demonstrate initiative and innovation.
