About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head Miller to join the team at our Northam Flour Mill.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be the technical expert for the milling operation, responsible for leading day-to-day flour milling activities, developing milling capability across the team and ensuring the mill consistently delivers safe, efficient and high-quality production outcomes.

As a senior member of the site leadership team, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence, coaching millers and operators, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site. This position is ideal for an experienced flour milling professional who combines strong technical expertise with a practical leadership style.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the site's technical milling expert, providing guidance, coaching and developing the milling and production team capability
• Monitor and optimise flour extraction, yields, efficiencies and product quality outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality and regulatory requirements including HACCP and GMP standards.
• Work closely with Maintenance, Quality, Planning and Site Leadership teams to maximise plant performance.
• Investigate process issues and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and operational performance.

About You

You are a highly skilled flour milling professional who enjoys leading by example and developing others. You are technically strong, calm under pressure and passionate about delivering operational excellence.

You will bring:

• Previous experience leading or supervising milling teams.
• Strong understanding of wheat gristing, milling performance, flour quality and process optimisation.
• Ability to analyse operational data and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• NABIM, SMS or equivalent milling qualification highly regarded.
