Wardsperson

About the role

As a Wards Person, you will be responsible for patient Transport throughout the hospital. You will also be cleaning and will need to provide the highest standards of cleanliness to all areas of Kareena Private Hospital as directed. This will involve ensuring all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas, in order to keep all staff, patients and families safe. Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times, you will maintain communication networks with nursing staff and other stakeholders ensuring quality clinical outcomes are achieved.

This job involves regular heavy lifting throughout the shift; candidates must be physically fit.  You will be responsible for ensuring a clean environment is maintained within patient rooms and common areas, along with the following:

Duties include but not limited to:

• Ensuring a clean environment is maintained (patient rooms and common areas)
• Daily completion of Cleaning Checklist
• Patient Transport
• Liaising with Team Leaders and Ward Staff
• Use of Chemicals

Essential Criteria:

• “Can do” attitude and good work ethic
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of infection control and manual handling
• Physically fit and energetic
• Use of industrial floor polisher/scrubber
• Use of heavy lifters for the transport of bulk linen and waste

About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a good work ethic that includes punctuality, integrity, respect for others and a commitment to professional practice. Your effective written and verbal communication skills will assist in providing excellent customer service at all times in line with facility standards.
