Automotive Mechanic / Trade Assistant – Light Vehicles

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Automotive Mechanic / Trade Assistant to join our workshop team. In this role, you will perform routine servicing, diagnostic troubleshooting, and general mechanical repairs on a wide range of light vehicles. You will work alongside experienced technicians in a fast-paced environment that values quality workmanship and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled logbook servicing and maintenance on light vehicles.

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.

• Conduct brake, suspension, and steering repairs.

• Assist senior technicians with complex diagnostic procedures.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.

• Complete physical job cards accurately.

Skills and Experience

• Qualification: Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent trade qualification) is mandatory.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience working in a professional workshop environment.

• Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency with modern scan tools.

• Current, valid manual driver's license.

• Punctual, self-motivated, and able to work productively within a team.

• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety (WHS) practices.
