About this Opportunity
This is an exciting time to join our team as we continue to expand our dental services within remote South Australia and the Northern Territory. Based out of Adelaide, Port Augusta, Alice Springs or Darwin, you will provide high-quality dental assisting support, both clinical and administrative, to our team of dental clinicians. This position requires periods of time away from home, travelling in our state-of-the-art aircraft or driving to our communities.

Specifically, you will:

• Provide clinical chairside support to dentists and dental hygienists.
• Communicate effectively in a healthcare setting, using appropriate dental and healthcare terminology.
• Undertake general administrative duties.
• Assist in preparing and exposing radiographs.
• Maintain infection control standards as per RFDS, ADA, AS/NZS 4815 and NSQHS standards.
• Reprocess reusable instruments according to NSQHS standards and RFDS procedures.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified dental assistant seeking to experience the excitement of healthcare delivery in remote communities. You will be confident problem-solving and thinking on your feet.

You will have a working knowledge of infection control, sterilisation and waste segregation procedures, along with a high level of competency in using electronic patient records systems. 

Working with a supportive team of dentists, hygienists, oral health therapists and other dental assistants, you will also possess a willingness to work in non-traditional environments. If you have experience working in regional or remote areas, this will be a bonus!

To be considered for the role you require:

• A Certificate III in Dental Assisting
• Significant experience in chairside dental assisting and dental practice administration
• High standards of infection control
• Demonstrated experience in sterilisation and instrument reprocessing
• Experience in rural/remote/population health and in a cross-cultural environment
