Fabrication Draftsperson

ZWF is a well-established fabrication company specialising in custom stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel fabrication for Civil, Building, Pipeline and Heavy Machinery projects.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Fabrication Draftsperson to join our team. This role will bridge the gap between the and production, ensuring all jobs reach the workshop floor with accurate drawings, materials and instructions for efficient manufacturing. Where client drawings require further detail, you will liase and create manufacturing drawings using Iron Cad and provide the necessary production information. A strong understanding of fabrication processes is essential.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed manufacturing drawings using Iron Cad.

• Reviewing client drawings and specifications and clarify any discrepancies with clients.

• Creating production-ready drawings for production and client approval.

• Raising material and consumable purchase orders and tracking deliveries.

• Work closely with the office and factory teams to ensure every job is production ready before it reaches the workshop.

• Maintaining accurate drawing revisions and documentation.

• Ensure compliance with project requirements and codes.

• Develop sheet metal designs in stainless steel, mild steel & aluminium.

• Compose and maintain drawing registers, bills of materials and revision control.

• Program and manage the CNC plasma cutter, including creating nests and preparing cutting files (Training Provided if Needed)

• This is an on site role in our Hervey Bay office.

Role Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience using Iron Cad or similar.

• Previous experience in the sheet metal, metal fabrication or manufacturing industry.

• Strong understanding of fabrication processes.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Excellent organisational and problem solving skills.

• Strong communication skills.

• High attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office software- Outlook & Excel.
