Role Overview

Carrier Australia is looking for a motivated and reliable Air Conditioning Apprentice to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced HVAC technicians, gain practical industry experience and work towards becoming a qualified Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician.

You’ll combine on-the-job training with formal TAFE studies, gaining exposure to the installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair of HVAC and air conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, servicing and maintenance of air conditioning and HVAC equipment.

• Learn how to fault-find and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.

• Assist with preventative maintenance and servicing.

• Support the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems.

• Learn to safely use hand and power tools.

• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.

• Follow Carrier’s health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

• Attend TAFE and complete all required apprenticeship training and assessments.

• Develop your technical knowledge and practical skills through hands-on experience.

• Work professionally with customers and colleagues across a range of customer sites.

Required Competencies & Qualifications

You don't need to have extensive industry experience — we're looking for the right attitude, commitment and willingness to learn.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Genuinely interested in building a career in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

• Hands-on and enjoys working with tools and equipment.

• Reliable, punctual and committed to completing their apprenticeship.

• Willing to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.

• Safety-conscious and committed to doing things the right way.

• A good communicator who works well as part of a team.

• Customer-focused and professional.

• Able to demonstrate good problem-solving and attention to detail.

• Willing to travel to customer sites as required.

• Eligible to work in Australia.

• Holding a current driver's licence, or willing to obtain one as required.
