About the role
Sydney CBD | Full-Time | On-Site (5 Days)
WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2013 as Scape Australia, leaders in student housing, we've since grown into a vertically integrated living platform known as The Living Company; managing $17B in assets across Student Living (Scape), Rent to Live – Affordable Housing (RTL Co.), and Retirement Living (Aveo); spanning site origination, investment, planning, design, development, construction, and operations. The Living Company is reshaping the way Australians live by delivering sustainable, community-driven, and high-quality spaces across the country.
THE ROLE
You'll be a key player in the end-to-end accounting and finance cycle across Scape and Aveo - owning your part of the month-end close process and helping ensure our general ledger information and reporting is complete, accurate and timely.
You'll get exposure across financial close, statutory and management reporting, taxation, budgeting and forecasting, and project accounting - working closely with our Construction, Development, Treasury and Investment Management teams along the way.
Day-to-day you will be (but not limited to):
Preparing and reviewing month-end tasks, journals and GL reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in line with corporate and tax legislation
Supporting half-year and year-end audit requirements, including liaising directly with external auditors
Preparing and reviewing indirect tax bookings, lodgements and tax effect accounting, working closely with external tax consultants
Managing the intercompany matrix, consolidated balance sheet reconciliations and monthly/quarterly management reporting
Supporting the preparation of the annual budget, business plan and rolling forecast
Managing assigned construction project accounting, including funding, budget management and capital expenditure reconciliation
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
CA/CPA qualified accountant with Australian certification
Proven ability to run end-to-end month-end processes, from transaction recording through to variance analysis and reporting (R2R)
Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation and corporate reporting, ideally in hospitality or property
Experience with a medium to large ERP system, preferably NetSuite
High proficiency in MS Excel and the broader MS Office suite
Previous experience in a medium to large private trading company, with strong management and financial reporting experience
Hands-on experience with development feasibility, WIP/COGS accounting or investment property valuation processes, and experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar tools, will be highly regarded
WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN?
Be part of a purpose-led organisation shaping how Australians live
Exposure to a large, diversified living platform with real scale and complexity
Strong focus on wellbeing, growth, and inclusive culture
Competitive rewards, recognition programs, and lifestyle benefits
