About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team at Patterson Building Group, based in Mascot, NSW.

In this full-time role, you will play a key part in our construction operations, preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates across a diverse range of projects.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and equipment requirements

• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to identify all cost components

• Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information

• Participate in the bidding and tendering process, ensuring that our proposals are competitive and profitable

• Continuously research and stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and changes in material and labour costs

• Provide support and guidance to the project team throughout the construction process

What we're looking for

• Extensive experience (5+ years) as an Estimator in the construction industry

• Thorough understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost estimation principles

• Proficiency in using construction estimating software and spreadsheet applications

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and the project team

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field
