An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Leading Hand - Workshop to join our Service Department in Wacol.
Leading a team of 12 employees, this role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day workshop operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement. The position remains hands-on, with the successful candidate expected to be approximately 50% productive on the tools while providing technical guidance and leadership to the team
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating daily workshop activities and workflowProviding technical support, diagnostics and repair expertiseConducting quality inspections and ensuring documentation complianceSupporting technician utilisation and workshop productivityAssisting with machinery appraisals, repairs and maintenance programsDriving safety, efficiency and continuous improvement initiativesProviding mentoring, coaching and knowledge transfer to technicians and trades assistantsSupporting reporting requirements, warranty processes and service documentation standards
Roster: Monday to Friday – 5:00am to 13:57pm (9-day fortnight)
Hourly Rates: $52.48 - $55.06 per hour base + $200 per week Leading Hand Allowance + Super
Role Located: Wacol, QLD

What we are looking for:
Must have a trade qualification in Mobile Plant Technology or similarPrevious experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory capacity (Advantageous)Strong diagnostic and repair capabilities on earthmoving or heavy equipmentDemonstrated commitment to safety and quality workmanshipExcellent communication and leadership skillsAbility to coordinate workshop activities and support team performanceStrong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office systemsMR Driver's Licence preferredForklift license preferredCustomer-focused approach with the ability to build effective working relationships
