About The Role
The position of Assistant in Nursing (AIN) is responsible for contributing to the basic care needs of patients at The Mater.
The AIN will be complimentary support to the nursing team but assisting in the overall care planning of patient care, and by contributing to providing optimal patient care in a safe, timely and professional manner.
Assists nursing staff in the provision of basic nursing care.
Contributes to the hourly rounding process. Participate in and promote professional development activities for self and other staff members.
Participates in department and hospital staff meetings and education programs.
Maintains an environment that is at all times directed towards the safety and welfare of visitors and staff.
About You
Enrolled in and undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing at 2nd year level.
Enrolled in and undertaking a Diploma of Nursing and in at least 2nd stage.
Strong commitment to providing excellent and thorough clinical care.
Sound knowledge of manual handling practices and infection control standards/principles.
