About the role

RMCON is seeking experienced Concreter ALL ROUNDERS AND FOREMAN to join our growing team in Melbourne VIC 3000. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work on diverse concrete projects across commercial and industrial sites. As a versatile concreter, you will be responsible for executing concrete work to the highest standards, ensuring quality, safety and on-time project delivery. This role is pivotal in maintaining RMCON's reputation for excellence in the building trades industry.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and set out formwork for concrete pours, ensuring accuracy and structural integrity

• Place and finish concrete in accordance with project specifications and industry standards

• Perform all aspects of concrete work including on ground slabs, suspended slabs, columns, stairs, walls, paving concrete.

• Operate and maintain concrete equipment including trowel machines, vibrators, screeds and finishing tools

• Conduct quality checks to ensure concrete meets required specifications, strength and appearance standards

• Collaborate with other tradespeople and supervisors to coordinate work schedules and site requirements

• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OH&S regulations and RMCON safety protocols

• Maintain a clean and organised work site, managing waste and materials appropriately

• Troubleshoot and resolve concrete-related issues on site to minimise project delays

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a concreter with competency across a full range of concrete finishing techniques

• ABILITY TO READ PLANS PROPERLY

• Knowledge of all aspects, including formwork, plan reading, steel fixing (even basic steel fixing)

• Knowledge of concrete formwork design, installation and removal procedures

• Understanding of concrete mix designs, curing processes and quality control standards

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications and site measurements

• Experience operating concrete equipment and tools safely and effectively

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes

• Physical fitness and ability to work

• Current driver's licence and reliable transport to various Melbourne sites

• White Card (Construction Induction Card)

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety practices

• Preferred: experience with decorative concrete finishes, exposed aggregate
