About the role
About the role:
Join our vibrant General Paediatric service at Western Health. We provide comprehensive, compassionate care to the multicultural paediatric population of Western Melbourne. Paediatricians in our service diagnose and manage a broad array of paediatric health issues across inpatient and outpatient services. There are ample opportunities for peer review and discussion, and the unit has a supportive and collegiate culture.
The General Paediatrician will provide clinical support and supervision of junior medical staff on the inpatient ward and in the general acute medical clinics. The consultant clinics at Western Health manage a range of complex general and developmental patients and there are opportunities to work with our subspecialist colleagues, allied health staff, and mental health services to provide comprehensive care to children locally.
Inpatient ward service will occur at our Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s (JKWC) campus covering the paediatric ward, and at our Bacchus Marsh (BM) site covering the Level 2-3 special care nursery. Family-friendly accommodation is provided for any periods at BM.
Clinical appointment is 0.4 FTE and will comprise both inpatient and outpatient work. The successful applicant will be required to work across our Western Health sites, with regular attendance at Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s (Sunshine Hospital) and either the Melton or Bacchus Marsh (BM) campus.
Commencement as soon as possible, with negotiable start date.
