Medical Receptionist

We are looking for a permanent part-time Medical Receptionist to work about 1-3 days per week at Leichhardt General Practice. We are potentially also open to applicants only available for a casual position.

Leichhardt General Practice is a well-established General Practice clinic, which has been providing medical care to the Inner West community for over 70 years. We have a dedicated team of General Practitioners, Nurses, Allied Health and Receptionists and pride ourselves on our friendly working environment and quality patient care. 

Paid training is included. Start date is flexible, but within the next 3-4 weeks is ideal.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Opening/closing clinic

• Maintaining cleanliness of clinic

• Greeting patients in a professional and friendly manner

• Answering phone calls

• Dealing with face-to-face enquiries

• Scheduling appointments

• Receiving and sending clinic correspondence

• Processing payments and Medicare billings

• Maintaining a high standard of ethics and patient confidentiality

• Providing excellent customer service to patients and doctors

Desirable Qualities:

• The ability to multi-task and work in a busy environment

• Able to work effectively within a team

• Good communication and problem solving skills

• The ideal candidate will be flexible and open to last minute cover on occasion. Additional flexibility with hours when staff are sick or on leave is very desirable and will be highly valued - but is not essential.

• Strong customer service skills

• Willingness to learn 

• Reliable staff member

• Previous experience in general practice is preferred but not essential

• Knowledge of medical software such as Medical Director, Pracsoft or Best Practice is extremely desirable, but not essential.
