Established in 1979, Western Sydney MRC (WSMRC) Ltd is a for purpose, place-based, community organisation serving migrant and refugee communities in Southwest Sydney and the Macarthur Region. We provide a range of services and tailored support to ensure that all individuals who come to Australia to start a new life feel respected and valued as Australian community members, and have access to the support they need to reach their full potential.

We are seeking passionate, skilled, and community-minded individuals to join the WSMRC Board as Non-Executive Directors. This is a voluntary leadership role for people who want to make a real difference in the lives of some of Australia’s most vulnerable and resilient communities. As a Non-Executive Director, you will contribute your expertise to the strategic direction, governance, and oversight of WSMRC helping us grow our impact across Western Sydney.
The Board of Western Sydney MRC operates with a strategic focus, placing emphasis on leadership, strategy, and policy, rather than day-to-day operations and activities. The board’s efforts are concentrated on guiding the organisation’s overall direction and community impact.
As a Non-Executive Director, you will:

Commitment: Voluntary
Location: Western Sydney (Liverpool & Macarthur Region)
Term: Up to 3 years (renewable, subject to Clause 35 of the WSMRC Constitution).
Activity Frequency
Board meetings Approximately 6–8 per year
Sub-committee participation As required
Annual General Meeting Once per year
Strategic planning Once per year
Ad hoc engagement As needed
