Scrap Metal Excavator Operator - Vehicle Dismantling

About the role

Jollys Auto Parts is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team in Dandenong South, Victoria. This full-time role will see you operating heavy machinery to dismantle vehicles as part of our vehicle recycling operations. You will be a key member of our Plant & Machinery Operators team, playing a crucial part in our commitment to sustainable resource management.

What you'll be doing

• Expertly operate excavators and other heavy machinery to systematically dismantle end-of-life vehicles

• Ensure all dismantling activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with company policies and procedures

• Identify and separate vehicle components and materials for recycling or resale

• Conduct regular maintenance and pre-start checks on assigned equipment

• Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members as required

• Contribute to a positive team culture and high safety standards on the worksite

What we're looking for

• Several years' experience as an Excavator Operator in a construction, demolition or recycling environment

• Demonstrated expertise in the operation of excavators and other heavy machinery

• Knowledge of vehicle dismantling procedures and recycling best practices

• Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness and problem-solving skills

• A keen eye for detail and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy

• A positive, safety-focused attitude and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability

• A valid driver's licence and Construction Induction (White) Card
