The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria's largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.
Unit Description:
The Hepatology Fellowship is a highly rewarding one-year clinical and research programme designed to develop advanced Hepatology expertise within a large tertiary teaching hospital environment, with good exposure to complex liver disease management, multidisciplinary care, and clinical trials, and the opportunities for research across the broader Parkville Biomedical Precinct.
About the role:
The Fellow will play an integral role in both clinical service delivery and the continued growth of the department's collaborative research profile. The position offers excellent exposure to the multidisciplinary management of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) including immunotherapy, complex portal hypertension, all aetiologies of liver disease, acute liver failure and decompensated liver disease, including Fontan-associated liver disease and porphyria. Fellows will also gain experience within a large and active Hepatology Clinical Trials Unit. Roles include, but are not limited to:
About You:
· Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (for international Medical Graduates)
· Appropriate tertiary health qualifications - MBBS or equivalent
· Ability to work in a team
· Well-developed communication and presentation skills
