Conveyancing Paralegal

About the role

Smart Legal Group Pty Ltd is seeking a Conveyancing Paralegal to join our team in Hope Island, Queensland. This is a part-time position that offers flexibility whilst contributing meaningfully to our conveyancing practice. As a Conveyancing Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our conveyancing team, assisting with the preparation, processing and completion of property transactions. This role is crucial in ensuring that our clients receive efficient and professional conveyancing services whilst maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing conveyancing documents, including contracts of sale, transfer documents and settlement statements

• Conducting property searches and obtaining requisite certificates and statutory documentation

• Managing client files and maintaining accurate records of all transaction details and communications

• Liaising with clients, real estate agents, lenders and other stakeholders to progress transactions

• Assisting with the organisation and coordination of settlement meetings and final transaction closures

• Performing administrative tasks including diary management, document filing and data entry

• Supporting conveyancing lawyers by providing research and preliminary drafting work on property matters

• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and firm policies throughout all transactions

What we're looking for

• Minimum 12 months experience in conveyancing.

• Demonstrated experience working in a conveyancing practice or property law environment

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple documents and transactions accurately

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Leap Legal

• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• The ability to work collaboratively within a team whilst managing tasks independently

• Professional approach with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and legal professional privilege

• PEXA experience
