About the Role

We are currently seeking a Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant to join our team at our Horsham Residential Care Facility. In this role, you’ll play an important part in supporting the health and wellbeing of our residents by helping to deliver engaging and meaningful lifestyle programs. Working closely with the Lifestyle Coordinator, you’ll assist in developing and running person-centred activities that encourage wellness, independence, and social connection. You’ll help plan and facilitate individual and group programs based on residents’ interests and abilities, including for those living with dementia.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with planning and running group and individual lifestyle activitiesSupport residents during sessions, including those living with dementiaProvide 1:1 social and emotional supportSet up and tidy activity spaces and equipmentHelp with resident mobility and personal care during activitiesComplete basic clerical tasks and record-keepingFoster a welcoming, inclusive environment for residents

What You Will Need

Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or related qualification or a Certificate IV in Leisure and HealthPrevious experience in a similar role, including working in aged care and memory support units with residents living with dementiaSkilled in planning and facilitating recreational and leisure activities that enhance wellbeingStrong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and team membersA person-centred approach with a commitment to dignity, privacy, and respectful careOrganised, motivated, and reliable, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Candidates must hold a current National Police Clearance. In line with current health guidelines for the aged care sector, candidates are strongly encouraged to be up to date with all recommended vaccinations.
