Principal Environmental Scientist - Contaminated Land

Our national environmental team is growing, and we're looking for a Principal Environmental Scientist to join our Adelaide office. This is an opportunity to step into a senior leadership role where your technical expertise, client insight, and mentoring ability will make a real impact.

About The Role

In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering contaminated land projects – providing project guidance, supporting clients, and mentoring our junior consultants. The position can be tailored to your strengths, whether you're a well-rounded generalist or bring specialist expertise in areas such as remediation, hydrogeology, risk assessment, or auditing.

Key Responsibilities Include

Leading and directing complex contaminated land projectsBuilding and maintaining strong client relationshipsProviding technical leadership, input, and report reviewsMentoring and developing junior and mid-level staffSupporting national project delivery and collaborationDriving business development and proposal development

About You

You're an experienced consultant who combines strong technical capability with leadership and commercial awareness. You enjoy working with clients, solving problems, and helping teams succeed.

You will bring:

A tertiary degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Environmental Management or related qualification15+ years' experience in contaminated land or a related fieldDemonstrated ability to work directly with clients and other key stakeholders to ensure thorough environmental advice and successful project deliveryExperience in a similar positionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong team playerExperience in training and mentoring staffStrong commitment to workplace health and safety
