Bookkeeper

About the Role:

mySleep is one of Australia’s growing independent sleep healthcare providers, with a strong focus on delivering quality care and outstanding service to our patients.

We are looking for an experienced Full-Function Bookkeeper to join our team at our North Lakes office. Reporting directly to our Accountant, you will be an integral part of a small and supportive finance team, taking ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping function across multiple entities.

This is a hands-on, varied role suited to an experienced bookkeeper who enjoys working autonomously, takes pride in accuracy and is confident managing the complete bookkeeping cycle from accounts payable and receivable through to payroll, reconciliations, month-end and financial reporting.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of our day-to-day finance functions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage the full bookkeeping function across multiple entities.

• Complete daily bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records in Xero.

• Manage accounts payable, creditors and supplier payments.

• Manage accounts receivable and debtor follow-up to support strong cash flow.

• Process weekly payroll, including superannuation, accurately and in accordance with relevant legislation.

• Prepare and lodge BAS and Payroll Tax reports.

• Complete month-end processes, including journals, reconciliations and account reviews.

• Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports and year-end accounts.

• Identify discrepancies, investigate variances and proactively resolve issues.

• Maintain compliance with ATO requirements and relevant financial obligations.

• Work closely with the Accountant and management team to provide accurate and timely financial information.

• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and efficiencies.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper who can confidently take ownership of the role and work across the entire bookkeeping cycle.

You will ideally have:

• 5+ years' experience in a full-function bookkeeping role.

• Demonstrated experience managing bookkeeping across multiple entities.

• Strong working knowledge and experience with Xero.

• High-level Microsoft Office skills, and advanced Excel.

• Experience with payroll, superannuation, BAS and Payroll Tax.

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and find practical solutions.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.

• Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.

• A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership and learn new systems and processes.

• A relevant qualification in accounting, finance, business or management will be highly regarded but is not essential.
