About the Role

We’re seeking a qualified Electrician to join our team at the Tronox Chandala site in Muchea, located approximately 50 km north of Perth CBD.

This role offers a diverse mix of industrial maintenance and project installation work on a long-standing, aging processing plant.

The role involves the following tasks:

• Lighting and power installations and repairs

• Large scale cable installations

• Cable Ladder replacement

• Fixed plant electrical maintenance

• Shut down / project works

• Follow all site safety rules and instructions actively participating in meetings as required

• Complete all safety documentation and associated permits to a high standard

• Complete all Curtis Electrical electronic job notes and test sheets on SimPro to a high standard.

There will also be a requirement to assist with ad hoc works at the Cooljarloo mine site, approximately one hour north of Chandala.

Skills and experience you can offer us:

• Strong knowledge of electrical principles

• hands-on experience in terminating SWA (steel wire armoured) cable

• Proven ability to install and modify cable ladder systems in industrial environments

• Competent with working at heights and with the use of boom / scissor lifts.

• Positive attitude, motivated and dedicated

• Ability to build and establish strong rapport with clients

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• High level of safety awareness and OH&S standards

• Ability to follow correct procedures

• Organization and time management

• Reliable working in a small team environment, supporting others and contributing to shared goals but also being able to work independently with minimal direction

 
The successful candidate must have prior to commencement:

• A Grade Electrical License

• EWP High Risk License

• Valid Working at Heights certification

• Current valid driver’s license (manual preferred)

• LVR / CPR current within 12 months

• White Card

• AS/NZS 3000 knowledge

• Australian citizen or resident with full rights to work in Australia

• Be drug and alcohol free and be able to pass pre-employment and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing

Desirable:

• Industrial electrical experience

• Experience in fault finding and inspections on fixed plant equipment

• Experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant equipment

• Understanding and experience working in hazardous areas (EEHA) or willingness to obtain certification

• Competent with SimPro

• Confined Spaces

• Electrical Hazardous areas certification

• First Aid Training

 
Location and Details

Tronox Processing Plant - Muchea site located roughly 30 minutes’ drive north of Ellenbrook or 30 minutes’ drive east of Joondalup. The successful candidate must reside within 1 hours driving distance of the site as there is no accommodation provided with this role.

Average work days are 9-10 hours Monday to Friday (9 day fortnight). Saturdays available dependent on workload where weekend rates are applied.
