About the role
About us
SeeAbility is a community-focused organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality support services to individuals with disabilities. We are committed to empowering our clients to live independently, participate meaningfully in their communities, and achieve their personal goals. Our team is passionate about making a real difference in people's lives, and we pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive, supportive workplace culture where every team member is valued and supported.
About the role
We are seeking Disability Support Workers to join our Program team at St Clair NSW 2759 and SIL team across Penrith on a casual basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing compassionate, person-centred support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and maintain their independence. This position offers flexible working arrangements, making it ideal for those seeking casual employment. You will work directly with clients in their homes and community settings, providing essential support and care that makes a tangible difference to their wellbeing and quality of life.
What you'll be doing
Providing personal care and support, including assistance with daily living activities such as grooming, hygiene, and meal preparation
Assisting clients with mobility support and safe transferring techniques
Supporting clients to participate in community activities, social outings, and recreational programs
Helping clients develop life skills and build independence in areas such as budgeting, shopping, and time management
Maintaining accurate and timely records of support provided and any relevant observations about client wellbeing
Building positive, trusting relationships with clients based on respect, dignity, and person-centred values
Communicating effectively with clients, families, and the broader support team to ensure coordinated care
Following all relevant support plans, health and safety protocols, and organisational policies and procedures
Promoting client rights, privacy, and confidentiality at all times
Responding respectfully and professionally to clients' individual needs and preferences
What we're looking for
A genuine commitment to supporting people with disabilities and promoting their independence and wellbeing
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate positively to clients from diverse backgrounds
Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
Physical fitness and capability to provide hands-on support, including assistance with mobility and personal care
Reliability and the ability to work flexibly across varying casual hours as required
A current, valid Australian driving licence and access to reliable transport (for visiting clients in their homes)
Willingness to obtain relevant certifications, including First Aid and CPR training
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
A commitment to maintaining privacy, confidentiality and upholding high standards of professional conduct
Relevant disability support qualifications or prior experience in aged care, disability support, or community services are highly valued, though not essential
What we offer
At SeeAbility, we value our staff and are committed to providing a supportive, inclusive workplace. We offer competitive casual rates of pay and flexible working arrangements that allow you to balance your work with other commitments. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training and ongoing professional development opportunities to help you develop your skills and progress within the organisation. Our team is supportive and collaborative, and we foster a culture where your contributions are recognised and appreciated. We are committed to your health and wellbeing, and we provide access to employee assistance programs and wellbeing resources. If you require any adjustments or additional support during the recruitment process, we encourage you to contact us to discuss how we can assist you.
