Maintenance Supervisor

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will be working closely alongside the residents and fellow staff, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair tasks around our retirement village. No two days are the same. From completing repairs and maintenance tasks to coordinating contractors and helping maintain our beautiful grounds and facilities, you'll be at the heart of creating an environment that residents are proud to call home. This role is perfect for someone with a trade background or strong maintenance experience who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, solving problems, and building positive relationships. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a trade background or strong domestic maintenance experience, who is friendly, proactive, and passionate about helping others.     This is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday (8:00am-4:00pm)    Your Impact     Work with the Aveo Facilities team and contractors to ensure external works are attended to and completed to a high standard Conduct regular inspections around the village to rectify any maintenance defects and issues Performing small plumbing maintenance, including replacing taps and washers  Supporting the upkeep of external assets such as lighting and sprinkler systems  Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance across the community  Managing community tools and equipment to ensure they are safe, organised and fit for purpose  Prepare and program access swipes for residents or family members Recording maintenance activities, notes and job updates  Being a friendly and approachable presence for residents while working closely with a supportive team      What you'll bring     Experience in a general maintenance or trade‑based role, including hands‑on handyperson tasks  A proactive, solutions‑focused approach, with the ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and take action  An understanding of maintenance cycles and the expected lifespan of equipment and village assets  Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident‑friendly way  Great attention to detail A positive, approachable attitude and a strong sense of pride in your work  A valid driver’s licence (essential)  Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)     What we offer     $33.65/hr + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances    Employee Referral Program and Employee Assistance Program   Discounts to Health Insurance and Retail & Leisure partner providers   Two (2) additional leave days per year Annual flu vaccinations and skin checks   The opportunity to build meaningful, lasting relationships with residents and contribute to our retirement community      Who we are    As a leader in retirement living, with 30 years' experience, Aveo provides the stability and confidence to try new things and keep innovating.
