Role Description This is a temporary, on-site Web Content Writer role based in Perth, WA. The Web Content Writer will create, update, and optimize digital articles, features, and short-form content for the MANIC! Magazine website. Day-to-day tasks include researching topics, drafting and revising web-friendly copy, aligning content with editorial guidelines, and collaborating with editors and designers to ensure consistency in tone and style. The role also involves managing content within a CMS, selecting appropriate visuals or media, and monitoring basic performance indicators to refine future pieces. The Web Content Writer is expected to meet publication deadlines, participate in editorial meetings, and contribute ideas that support the magazine’s creative direction.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Web Content Writing and Writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate copy.Candidates should possess skills in Content Strategy and Content Management, including planning content themes and working within a content management system.Candidates should possess solid Research skills to identify credible sources, develop story angles, and support content with accurate information.Candidates should possess attention to detail, strong grammar and editing abilities, and familiarity with SEO best practices for web publishing.Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site within a small editorial team and respond constructively to feedback.Relevant qualifications such as a degree or coursework in Journalism, Communications, Media, English, or a related field are beneficial, as is prior experience writing for online magazines or cultural publications.
