Disability Support Worker (Female Only)

Are you an experienced Support Worker looking for a rewarding opportunity? Wellness Australia Services is seeking a compassionate individual with experience in complex mental health and intellectual disabilities and a passion for improving clients' lives to join our established team in Kandanga.

About the Role:

As a support worker, you will play a crucial role within a dedicated team in providing high-quality care and supports to a wonderful lady with complexities with her disability and mental health. Your responsibilities will include:

• Be a team player contributing to a multi-disciplinary team

• Providing support under the guidance of the Positive Behaviour Practitioner.

• Assist with personal care and hygiene.

• Implementing and adhering to NDIS legislation and guidelines.

• Utilising demonstrated experience in restrictive practices while respecting and upholding human rights.

• Offering compassionate care tailored to the individual’s needs.

• Promoting their independence and quality of life.

• Set roster for this client available but additional hours and opportunities across our clients and sites for the right applicant. 

• Training and professional development opportunities available

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar role, particularly with complex mental health and intellectual disabilities or working within the Child Safety or Aged Care sectors.

• Demonstrated experience with restrictive practices.

• Strong understanding of human rights and their application in support settings.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Computer literacy essential

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Relevant qualifications and certifications in support work or a related field highly regarded

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
