What you will be doing in this role
We are seeking a committed and experienced Operating Theatre Assistant Coordinator to lead our Operating Theatre Assistant (OTA) team in delivering exceptional, patient-centred perioperative care. In this important leadership role, you will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the OTA service, ensuring effective workforce deployment, smooth theatre support services and the timely delivery of patient transport and equipment management across the Perioperative Department.
You will provide leadership, guidance and support to the OTA team, coordinating daily workloads, theatre assignments, break allocations and roster requirements to ensure a responsive and efficient service. You will also play a key role in onboarding, training and developing team members, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture that reflects Adventist HealthCare's values.
Working closely with nursing, medical and perioperative teams, you will support the safe and respectful transportation and positioning of patients, while ensuring theatre equipment and resources are available, maintained and fit for purpose.
A key aspect of this role is ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, NSQHS Standards, infection prevention requirements and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to safe, efficient and effective theatre operations while supporting outstanding patient outcomes.
This is a permanent Monday to Friday role.
