The Opportunity
Mountain View Retirement Village is a vibrant community set on 28 acres of lush rainforest in the Tweed Valley, offering the peace of a rural retreat just 3.5km from Murwillumbah town centre. As a highly motivated Cook, you will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment to prepare and deliver high-quality meals to our residents. You'll be a great communicator, enjoy being hands-on with kitchen preparation and enjoy supporting residents' well-being. The residents are the heart of everything we do and the reason we come to work every day, their happiness is key to a successful overall operation, and we are looking for someone who values this as much as we do.
This is a permanent part time role working Monday; Tuesday; Saturday and Sunday (9:00am-5:00pm)
What We Offer
Weekday Rates: $30.34/hr + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances Saturday Rates: $45.51/hr + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances Sunday Rates: $53.10/hr + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances Great Work/Life BalanceEmployee Referral Program and Employee Assistance ProgramDiscounts to Health Insurance and Retail & Leisure partner providersBe part of a friendly and supportive team in a caring retirement living community
You Will
Provide restaurant-style kitchen and dining serviceAssist in the daily kitchen preparation and serving of mealsEnsuring daily quality meal service to residents and visitors of the surrounding Aveo CommunityDaily monitoring of food safety plans and following all Food Services procedures
What You'll Bring
Knowledge and/or experience in catering/kitchen/hospitality settings (e.g experience in food preparation) Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (required)Food Safety Certificate (desirable) A friendly and warm persona with a passion for food and chatting with residents!Current Police check (required, but we can complete for you!)Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)
