Cyber Security Architect

This role is ideal for a security professional who can translate cyber risks into clear, implementable controls, influence stakeholders at all levels, and develop security strategies, patterns and blueprints that enable secure business change.

About the Role

As a Security Architect, you will work across multiple engagements, partnering with customers, developers, engineers and business stakeholders to ensure security outcomes are consistent, practical and aligned with organisational objectives.

You will provide technical leadership, identify emerging threats and risks, and help teams deliver change securely without compromising delivery speed or operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead customer engagements and manage expectations using established security architecture frameworks.
• Identify threats, vulnerabilities and security risks, ensuring clear traceability between risks and controls.
• Recommend controls that are practical, proportionate and implementable.
• Develop security strategies aligned with business objectives and enterprise priorities.
• Create reusable security patterns, standards and blueprints that accelerate secure delivery.
• Provide security architecture guidance across enterprise security domains, capabilities and services.
• Educate and technically lead developers and engineers through secure design and change discussions.
• Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage multiple concurrent engagements and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes.
• Coordinate, estimate and respond to customer enquiries and issues within established SLAs.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, architecture documentation and knowledge-base materials.
• Monitor emerging cyber threats affecting technology-intensive industries, particularly financial services and insurance.
• Maintain knowledge of security tools and best practices relating to threat monitoring and incident response.
• Prepare and present reports, recommendations and executive-level briefings.

About You

You will bring:

• Proven experience in security architecture within a large, complex enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture principles, frameworks, domains and services.
• Demonstrated experience conducting threat and security risk assessments.
• The ability to translate identified risks into justified, pragmatic security controls.
• Experience developing security strategies, architectural patterns and technical blueprints.
• Strong understanding of secure technology change and modern engineering practices.
• Knowledge of cyber threat monitoring and incident-response principles.
• Experience managing multiple engagements, priorities and customer expectations.
• Strong written communication, reporting and presentation capabilities.
• The ability to explain complex security concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Confident technical leadership and stakeholder-influencing skills.
• Experience within banking, financial services, insurance or another highly regulated environment would be highly regarded.
