Mining Engineer

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will play an important role in supporting underground production activities through mine planning, scheduling and operational analysis. Working closely with operational teams and mining contractors, you will help deliver safe, efficient and practical mining outcomes that support the achievement of production targets. This role is ideally suited to a Mining Engineer with at least one year of post graduate experience who is looking to build on their underground mining knowledge and develop their career within a dynamic and expanding operation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and optimisation of short and medium term mine plans.

• Develop and maintain production schedules and forecasts.

• Prepare practical underground mine designs and planning documentation.

• Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for operational improvement.

• Support budgeting, reporting and life of mine planning activities.

• Liaise closely with underground operational personnel and mining contractors to ensure plans are practical and achievable.

• Collaborate with Geology, Survey and Technical Services teams to deliver integrated mining outcomes.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity and cost performance.

• Promote and support safe mining practices across all activities.

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.

• Minimum one year of experience following completion of a Graduate Mining Engineer program.

• Underground mining experience within a production environment.

• Exposure to mine planning, scheduling and production engineering activities.

• Experience working collaboratively with mining contractors and operational stakeholders.

• Proficiency with mine planning and design software.

• Strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills.

• Ability to build effective working relationships across technical and operational teams.

• A proactive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
