Senior Commercial Litigation Associate

Company Description Pentana Stanton Lawyers is a multidisciplinary law firm providing services across commercial litigation.Location: Lonsdale St City or Dandenong Office | Full-time or Part-time | $160K - $180KRole Description The Senior Commercial Litigation Associate will manage a portfolio of complex commercial disputes, including contractual claims, shareholder disputes, insolvency-related matters, and debt recovery proceedings. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, and correspondence; conducting detailed legal research; preparing and attending court hearings; and managing discovery and evidence. The role involves liaising with clients and counsel, developing case strategies, and participating in settlement negotiations and mediations. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne, VIC, requiring regular interaction with clients, courts, and internal teams.QualificationsStrong foundation in commercial Law, with demonstrated experience in litigation and dispute resolution.Proficiency in drafting and arguing motions, pleadings, and other court documents in commercial matters.Advanced research skills, including case law analysis, statutory interpretation, and preparation of legal opinions.Experience conducting and managing depositions, witness interviews, and evidence preparation.Confidence in appearing before various courts, managing hearings, and working with barristers and experts.Admission to practice law in Australia and a current Australian practising certificate.Minimum several years’ experience in commercial litigation, ideally within a reputable law firm.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and professional judgment.Ability to manage competing priorities, and work effectively under time constraints.Strong client relationship skills, commercial awareness, and a proactive, collaborative working style.
