Bookkeeper

About the role

This is a full-time, permanent Bookkeeper position at Australian Bush Harvest, located near Goulburn, NSW.

As the Bookkeeper you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of the company's accounting and bookkeeping functions.

We have a preference for hybrid work.

Xero experience is essential.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing and inventory management

• Set up and maintain product SKUs and inventory records

• Prepare and analyse financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports

• Assist with the preparation and filing of business activity statements and other tax-related documents

• Assist keep the business organised, communication flowing, and processes running smoothly, including with administration, operations, compliance and information management tasks

• Implement and maintain efficient accounting systems and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including invoice processing, purchase orders and supplier payments

• Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, including training and mentoring junior bookkeepers

• Collaborate with the finance and management teams to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations

• Implement wholesale food processing, manufacturing and/or distribution processes and systems

What we're looking for

• 5 years or more of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably in a small or medium-sized business

• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, taxation laws, and bookkeeping best practices

• Proficient in the use of Xero or like accounting software

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights and build processes and systems

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the finance and management teams

• Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
