About this Opportunity
Are you passionate about helping people build confidence in the water while developing valuable lifelong skills? We're seeking enthusiastic and motivated Casual Learn to Swim Instructors to join the UQ Sport Aquatics team.
In this rewarding role, you'll deliver engaging and structured swimming lessons that help participants develop water confidence, safety awareness and swimming capability in a fun, inclusive environment. With lessons running across weekdays, evenings and weekends, this casual opportunity offers flexibility for those looking to fit work around study, family commitments, sporting pursuits or other interests.
Key responsibilities will include:
Deliver safe, engaging and structured learn-to-swim lessons for participants of varying ages and abilities.
Teach water safety skills and promote confidence in and around the water.
Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every participant feels supported to succeed.
Assist with pool set-up and pack-down to ensure lessons run smoothly.
Maintain high standards of safety, supervision and program delivery.
Build positive relationships with participants, families and fellow team members to deliver an exceptional experience.
About You
You are an energetic and reliable individual who enjoys working with people and helping others achieve their goals. You bring a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for creating positive experiences in and around the water.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A current Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification.
Current CPR certification.
A valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or the ability to obtain one.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
A customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality programs.
Availability to work a combination of weekday, evening and/or weekend shifts.
A passion for promoting water safety and helping people develop confidence and lifelong skills in the water.
