Technical Implementation Consultant

A growing Australian SaaS company is expanding its implementation capability and looking for a Technical Implementation Consultant to work directly with enterprise insurance customers across complex platform delivery projects.

This is not a traditional functional consultant role and it is not a pure developer role either. The environment suits someone who enjoys working with customers, understanding how businesses operate and then translating those requirements into real system behaviour through configuration, logic and technical problem solving.

You will sit in the space between consulting, configuration and technical delivery.

The platform itself is highly configurable and used by major insurance organisations across policy management, underwriting, claims and product configuration. The work is varied, fast-moving and genuinely interesting, particularly for someone who enjoys understanding how systems behave under the hood.

What you’ll be doing:

• Working directly with customers to understand business requirements and operational processes.
• Configuring workflows, business rules and platform behaviour within a complex SaaS environment.
• Translating functional requirements into logic-based system outcomes.
• Investigating system issues, analysing data and troubleshooting platform behaviour.
• Supporting integrations, testing, data validation and deployment activities.
• Running workshops, gathering requirements and guiding customers through implementations and upgrades.
• Working closely with developers, BAs and delivery teams across large-scale transformation projects.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in Implementation Consulting, Technical Consulting, Systems Analysis or a similar hybrid role.
• Strong stakeholder and client-facing communication skills.
• Experience configuring SaaS platforms, workflows, business rules or system logic.
• Comfortable working with SQL for querying, validation or troubleshooting.
• Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Groovy, Java or similar.
• Someone who enjoys solving technical problems, not just gathering requirements.
• Ability to think both functionally and technically when approaching solutions.
• Experience within insurance, financial services or other regulated environments is beneficial but not essential.
