About the role

Aussie Bush Cabins is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice Carpenter to join our growing team on a full-time basis in Albany, WA 6330. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in the building trades whilst gaining hands-on experience from experienced professionals. As an apprentice, you will work alongside skilled carpenters to develop your craft, learning the fundamental and advanced techniques required to become a qualified tradesperson. This role is essential to our operations, allowing you to contribute to quality construction and building projects whilst building your expertise and industry knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting experienced carpenters with the construction, assembly and installation of wooden structures and fittings
• Measuring, cutting and shaping timber and other materials to required specifications
• Preparing and maintaining work areas, tools and equipment in a safe and organised manner
• Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively, including saws, drills, sanders and other equipment
• Assisting with site setup, cleanup and waste management on construction projects
• Adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices on all work sites
• Attending formal apprenticeship training and assessments as required

What we're looking for

• A genuine interest in carpentry and the building trades, with motivation to develop a long-term career in the industry
• School Certificate or equivalent qualification (Year 10 or higher)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work and attendance
• A valid driver's licence is preferred
• Willingness to undertake formal apprenticeship training and complete required assessments
