What your day could look like

As a Clinical Nurse - Child and Youth Mental Health Service, you'll play an important role in helping children, young people and their families access high-quality mental health support close to home. From delivering specialised care and coordinating services to partnering with colleagues and community stakeholders, you'll contribute to outcomes that strengthen wellbeing and build healthier futures.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

• Delivering evidence-based mental health assessment, intervention and case management that supports positive outcomes for children, young people and families.
• Building strong partnerships with consumers, carers, community services and multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve shared goals and coordinated care.
• Providing clinical leadership, guidance and support that helps maintain safe, effective and person-centred practice.
• Driving quality improvement initiatives, informed decision-making and continuous service enhancement that benefits the community.

You're a compassionate and confident clinician who makes a difference during important moments in a young person's life. You lead with integrity, treat others with dignity and bring the courage to make sound clinical decisions. You work collaboratively, embrace innovation and take pride in supporting better mental health outcomes for children, young people and families. Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Experience delivering mental health care, including assessment, therapeutic intervention and case management.
• Strong communication, collaboration and clinical decision-making skills within multidisciplinary environments.
• A commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement and safe, consumer-focused care.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have a postgraduate qualification in mental health nursing and/or recognised mental health nursing credentials.
