About the role
About the role:We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join our Business Applications team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working within a cohesive team and an established software development framework, this role is critical to the delivery of new systems and enhancements to core applications that support our 500+ staff across multiple business units and align with the broader business strategy.
As a Senior Developer, you will collaborate closely with other developers, business analysts, UX/UI designers, project managers, and stakeholders across the project lifecycle. You will design, develop, implement and support software solutions.
Reporting to the Development Manager, the role requires superior technical, organisational, and communication skills to thrive in our fast-paced and challenging wealth management environment.
Primary responsibilities:Work closely with business units to understand requirements and translate them into practical software designsDesign, build, test, package, deploy, and support new features and enhancements to existing systemsTake ownership of code quality, architecture, maintainability, and correctness across assigned workUse AI-assisted development tools (E.g. Claude Code), where appropriate, while critically reviewing and refining any generated codeReview development tools and processes and suggest practical improvementsProvide regular, clear status updates to the Development Manager
About You:We are seeking a candidate with a critical and methodical approach to solving complex problems, who thrives in a dynamic work environment. You possess a strong adherence to quality and timeliness, coupled with an exceptional attention to detail in every task you undertake. As a motivated self-starter, you have the ability to take ownership of your work, delivering impactful outcomes while working autonomously.
Your strong organisational and self-management skills enable you to effectively prioritise tasks and maintain productivity. Furthermore, you excel in verbal, presentation, and communication skills, allowing you to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Required experience:7–8+ years of practical, hands-on software development experienceTechnical degree preferredBroad Finance Industry knowledge and experience — ideally in wealth managementProven commercial experience in the use of software development processesKnowledge and experience with agile development practices
Required knowledge & technical skills:
Application developmentFull stack development across front-end and back-end systemsStrong experience with C#, .NET Core, and Web APIsStrong expertise in Angular; AngularJS experience desirableSolid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and dependency injectionData and reportingOracle PL/SQL and SQL Server T-SQLData modelling and database designSSRS and SSISFront-endHTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, SASS, LESSResponsive web designTools and practicesGit source control and TFSAgile development practicesOAuth and authentication/authorisation conceptsAI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code), with the ability to review, debug, and improve generated codeHybrid mobile application development experience desirable
