Role Description The Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne, VIC. This position is responsible for managing residential development projects from concept through to completion, including site assessment, feasibility studies, design coordination, and delivery oversight. The role involves collaborating with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects meet quality, budget, and timeline expectations. The Development Manager will monitor planning and regulatory requirements, manage project risks, support sales and marketing activities, and provide regular reporting on project performance. This role also includes maintaining strong relationships with external partners and contributing to continuous improvement in development processes and standards.
Qualifications
Experience in property development, construction management, or real estate project management, ideally within residential projects.Strong skills in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.Knowledge of local planning regulations, building codes, and compliance requirements in Melbourne and broader VIC.Ability to collaborate with design and construction teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors.Proficiency with project management and documentation tools; familiarity with development feasibility and financial modeling is an advantage.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and quality outcomes.Bachelor’s degree in property, construction, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience working with residential owner-occupiers and investors; understanding of market trends and buyer needs is beneficial.Ability to work on-site in Melbourne, manage multiple projects concurrently, and adapt to changing priorities.
