We are seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for Unaccredited Registrar - Neurosurgery vacancies.
The Royal Hobart Hospital is the tertiary referral hospital for Tasmania, and the principal teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania Medical School. The hospital provides most specialist medical services for the region or state.
The Tasmanian Neurosurgical Unit is a Statewide Service receiving elective and emergency Neurosurgery and Neurology patients and treats a wide range of Neurological and Neurosurgical conditions including Cranial and Spinal Trauma, Tumours, Vascular, Paediatric and Complex Spine.

$138,978 - $194,675 per annum + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging
Salary range is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025
ClassificationMedical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar)
AwardMedical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
Period of EmploymentFixed term, full time day work (with on call), working 76 hours per fortnight (+10 hours protected training time per fortnight, pro rata), commencing from 1 February 2027 until 7 February 2028.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.

DutiesThe Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day management of private & public inpatients/outpatients and provides afterhours emergency cover at the hospital as required.
