Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to support the successful delivery of automation and control systems projects for key clients across the oil and gas, mining, metals and minerals, and infrastructure sectors.

This role will suit someone with strong hands-on experience in Allen-Bradley PLC programming using Studio 5000, Citect / Plant SCADA and FactoryTalk View who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working across the full project lifecycle, from design and development through to testing and commissioning.

While this is primarily an engineering role, successful candidates will be willing to undertake site-based commissioning activities throughout the year. This is not a FIFO role. When project requirements involve working away, paid overtime, living away from home allowances and meal allowances are provided.

• Develop control system solutions in accordance with client requirements and industry best practice.
• Author engineering deliverables including Functional Design Specifications (FDS), I/O Lists and test documentation.
• Program Allen-Bradley PLCs using Studio 5000.
• Develop and configure Citect / Plant SCADA and FactoryTalk View applications.
• Conduct FAT, SAT and commissioning activities.
• Provide technical advice and support to project teams and clients.
• Identify and resolve technical issues throughout project delivery.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.

We are looking for someone with:

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming using Studio 5000.
• Experience developing and configuring Citect / Plant SCADA systems.
• Experience with FactoryTalk View development.
• Experience with:
  • Functional Design Specification (FDS) development
  • PLC and RTU programming
  • SCADA and HMI configuration
  • FAT, SAT and commissioning
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Willingness to undertake site commissioning activities when required.
• Experience in oil and gas, mining, metals and minerals, infrastructure or related industries will be highly regarded.
• CPEng certification.
