Sushi Room is an intimate and sophisticated Japanese restaurant, renowned for its premium produce, exceptional service and refined dining experience. As part of St Albans Hospitality, you'll be joining a collection of Brisbane's leading hospitality venues, including Hellenika, SK Steak & Oyster and Sunshine. We're looking for an experienced and passionate Head Waiter to join our team. This is a casual position offering consistent hours, with the opportunity for a full-time position for the right person.

Your Role

As Head Waiter, you'll lead service from the floor, setting the standard for exceptional hospitality while supporting and mentoring the front-of-house team. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you'll help deliver seamless service, build a positive team culture and ensure every guest leaves with an outstanding experience.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead service each shift with confidence and professionalism.

• Deliver exceptional, personalised guest experiences.

• Mentor, coach and support junior team members.

• Assist with training and onboarding new employees.

• Maintain exceptional service standards and attention to detail.

• Work closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.

• Build strong product knowledge across our food, wine and beverage offerings.

• Handle guest requests and resolve issues professionally.

• Lead by example, creating a positive and high-performing team environment.

About You

You'll bring:

• Previous experience as a Head Waiter, Senior Section Waiter or Supervisor within a premium restaurant.

• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire those around you.

• Outstanding communication and organisational skills.

• Excellent food, wine and beverage knowledge.

• A calm, professional approach in a fast-paced environment.

• Full working rights in Australia.

• A current RSA Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
